Una escala, unes sabates vermelles, un acordió i dues dones. Amb la música, la paraula i el gest expliquen la història d’una nena pobra però lliure que un dia va a parar a una casa benestant. Així la nena creix deixant enrere la misèria en què vivia, però aviat veu com la comoditat i la seguretat tenen el preu d’un estricte control sobre allò que ha de ser i fer. L’alegria s’esvaeix, fins que un dia…fuig per recuperar la seva vida arrelada, alegre i feliç.
