El Pelo de la Dehesa cuenta cómo Don Frutos, un rico labrador, llega a Madrid para cumplir el deseo de su padre: casarse con Elisa, hija de un marqués venido a menos. El matrimonio fue un trato entre linaje y dinero, pero los modales rústicos de Frutos chocan con la vida urbana. Entre enredos y situaciones divertidas, queda claro que las apariencias engañan. La obra ironiza sobre la hipocresía social y defiende, con gracia, la autenticidad por encima del postureo.
